Here’s my finished version of this month’s illustration. This version of Excalibur is modeled after the one we created for my movie “The Last Legion”.

I am taken by these images in their jewel-like qualities– there is a graphic simplicity, yes, but they read like a glowing icon in lights and darks and startling colors.

I am trying to get that quality to my own illustrations. My last piece is “flat” and needs a rework. btw- I do medical illustration.
