I did this drawing for J.R.R. Tolkien’s birthday. Tolkien was one of my biggest influences when I was a teenagers.
The easiest way to make a composition read is by playing dark against light and light against dark.
Sometimes I like to work with a limited palette. This is mostly warm and cool grays.
